Why Red Dye — Direct Gel Loading Workflow
The standard PCR-to-gel workflow has two pipetting steps after thermal cycling:
- Add loading dye to PCR product (typical 1–2 µL of 6X loading dye per 10–20 µL PCR product)
- Load mixture onto gel
The Red Dye master mix (PR1001-HSR family) eliminates step 1 — the loading dye is already in the PCR product because it was part of the 2X master mix from the start. After thermal cycling, the operator can load the PCR product directly onto the gel without a separate loading-dye addition step.
