After fifty years serving labs, we were tired of watching the small lab get treated worse than the big one. So we did something about it.

Founder & CEO
Yousha Sarmadi built his career making buying easier at companies where the customer experience actually mattered. Over two decades, he managed customer journey and analytics at Hyundai Motor America, led CRM for BSH Home Appliances (Bosch), directed marketing at IQAir, and headed marketing analytics for Irvine Company — with early years in healthcare marketing that first showed him how much patient care rides on the equipment behind it.
It was through his wife’s family — who have kept laboratory cold storage running through Scientific Refrigeration for nearly fifty years — that Yousha came to know the laboratory-equipment industry from the inside, and the pain points labs live with every day: opaque pricing, mystery quotes, and specs buried behind a sales call. Legacy Lab Supplies is his answer — honest specs, prices on the page, full manufacturer warranties, and fast, dependable delivery nationwide. He holds an M.S. in Marketing from the University of Alabama, and he’s still the one on the other end of every quote and every email.
How it started
Legacy Lab Supplies grew out of a family that has been serving laboratories for 50 years — through Scientific Refrigeration, keeping the cold storage that protects vaccines, plasma, and irreplaceable research samples running for labs across the country.
Over those decades, one thing became impossible to un-see: the industry treats the small lab and the big one very differently. A struggling startup with one grant and a well-funded university department will often pay the same inflated price, wait through the same red tape, and jump through the same hoops — for equipment that is essential to work that matters.
Yousha married into that family, bringing two decades of making buying easier in other industries — automotive, appliances, consumer health. Getting to know laboratory equipment through the family’s business, he recognized every problem he had spent his career fixing — opaque pricing, indifferent service, the customer treated as an account number — still standard practice here.
So he built the other side of the counter. Legacy Lab Supplies launched in 2024: a handful of products, a simple site, and one belief.
That buying lab equipment should feel less like being squeezed, and more like being helped.

We are a small, family-run company headquartered in San Clemente, California, and we intend to stay close to our customers as we grow. The labs we serve are doing some of the most important work there is — in medicine, in research, in the discoveries that move society forward. They deserve a supplier that acts like it.
And the name?
We called it Legacy Lab Supplies because that is what it is meant to be — something real and lasting, built to outlast us and be handed down. Our daughter was born just as we were starting, and she is a big part of why we want to build something we are proud of. But the work comes first: serve labs honestly, and the legacy takes care of itself.
