6 × 250 mL Angle Rotor for Z366 / Z366-K

The Z366-06250 is a 6 × 250 mL fixed-angle rotor for the Hermle Z366 (non-refrigerated) and Z366-K (refrigerated) universal centrifuges. The Z366 chassis ships standard with the Z366-250 swing-out rotor for 4 × 250 mL bottle work — that's the geometry for phase-boundary separation. The Z366-06250 angle rotor adds 6-position capacity at 250 mL each plus the angle-rotor speed advantage: at 8,000 rpm on a Z366 chassis with this rotor, you reach 10,016 × g — meaningfully higher than the swing-out's 3,780 × g cap, and across 6 bottles per cycle instead of 4.

Compatibility & Configuration

Chassis compatibility — Z366 family only. The Z366-06250 fits the Z366 and Z366-K (and their -E voltage twins). Not interchangeable with Z446, Z327, Z032-HK, or Z496-K rotor sockets.

RFID-tagged. Like all Z-series rotors, this one carries an RFID tag that the Z366 chassis reads at insertion. The drive automatically applies the rotor's rated speed cap and tunes the per-rotor imbalance threshold. Operator cannot accidentally apply the swing-out rotor's lower speed cap to this angle rotor (the chassis reads the tag and applies the correct rated cap automatically).

Adapter library. The Z366 family adapter library covers down to 1.5 / 2.0 mL micro tubes, plus 50 mL conical, 100 mL, and direct 250 mL bottle formats. The 6 × 250 mL angle rotor accepts 250 mL bottles directly, plus reduced-volume operation with appropriate spacer inserts.

Application Profile

6-position 250 mL high-RCF pelleting. When a workflow needs more than 4 bottles per cycle at 250 mL volume — protein-pelleting cores, mid-scale fermentation harvest groups, environmental high-throughput labs — the 6-position angle rotor delivers 50% more throughput per cycle than the standard 4-position swing-out at higher RCF.

Recombinant-protein lysate clarification. Clearing post-lysis debris from 250 mL aliquots × 6 in one cycle reduces the time-per-batch for protein-prep workflows.

Vaccine pre-concentration. 6 × 250 mL cell-culture supernatant clarification before downstream concentration steps.

Bulk biomass harvest. Mid-scale shake-flask or wave-bag culture harvest where 4 × 250 mL is throughput-limiting.

Industrial QC at 250 mL bottle scale when 6-position-per-cycle throughput justifies the angle-rotor price over the standard swing-out.

Loading & Balance

6-tube symmetric loading. With 6 positions, the load-balancing pattern is opposite-pair plus a third pair (positions 1+4, 2+5, 3+6). Pre-balance pairs by weight before insertion.

Sample-temperature note when using on Z366-K: the chassis's per-rotor pre-cooling program brings the chamber to set-point before insertion. For long protein-pelleting runs, allow pre-cooling to complete; for short clarification runs at ambient, the Z366 (non-refrigerated) is the more economical chassis pairing.

Selectable accel/decel including unbraked deceleration; for protein-pelleting use moderate decel to keep the pellet compact.

Ordering & Configuration

Z366-06250 ships as the rotor body. Tube adapters and reduced-volume spacer inserts are separate accessory line items per workflow.

Use the quote request to specify: chassis pairing (Z366 / Z366-K / -E variants), adapter sets needed for the initial inventory, and whether the workflow uses both this angle rotor and the standard Z366-250 swing-out (typical for facilities running both bottle and high-RCF protein workflows from the same instrument).
