The 380 nm wavelength is one half of the Fura-2 calcium-imaging absorbance ratio workflow — Fura-2 absorbance shifts from 340 nm (calcium-bound) to 380 nm (calcium-free), and the 340/380 nm absorbance ratio quantifies cytosolic calcium concentration. Labs running Fura-2-based calcium workflows on the MR9600 platform need both the MR9600-340 (340 nm) and MR9600-380 (this SKU, 380 nm) filters paired for the ratio measurement.
