The SmartSeal qPCR clear-film family includes three optical-clarity variants, each engineered for a specific qPCR-workflow seal-removal scenario:

Pick the MS1000-PCR2 strong-bond film when:

• The workflow is PP-plate qPCR with downstream cold storage / archival. The post-qPCR plate stays sealed for cold storage, transit, or archival; strong adhesion prevents seal failure during freeze-thaw or extended storage
• The workflow needs secure transit between sites. Strong-bond sealing prevents accidental seal opening during plate shipment
• The lab runs PP-format plates specifically (the strong-bond adhesive is optimized for PP-plate surface chemistry)
• Optical clarity is required during qPCR but easy seal removal is not the priority (workflow doesn't need post-qPCR seal access for downstream pipetting)

Design Architecture

Per-plate consumable. Each qPCR plate-sealing operation consumes one seal; the SmartSeal chassis applies the seal via heat-seal mechanism with the PCR plate adapter.

qPCR run-through optical clarity. The clear film transmits the standard qPCR excitation wavelengths (typically blue / green / yellow LED in qPCR instruments) and the fluorescence emission wavelengths back through to the instrument's detector. qPCR cycle data is captured through the seal without interference.

The strong-bond adhesion advantages are freeze-thaw stability (surviving the freeze-thaw cycles common in qPCR archive workflows), transit security (plates ship between facilities without seal failure), and extended-storage compatibility (long-term archive plates retain seal integrity). The trade-off is that seal removal requires more force (for workflows needing repeated seal access during multi-step processing, the peelable MS1000-PCR1 may be the better fit) and, like all SmartSeal films, the seal is single-use, consumed at first application.
