Why the Speed Limit — Deep-Well-Plate Balance

Deep-well plates have substantially more mass per well than shallow plates (35 mm vs ~14 mm depth) — at high RPM, slight imbalances between wells produce destabilizing forces on the rotor. The 1,500 RPM speed limit ensures safe operation within the deep-well rotor's mechanical envelope.

For workflows that need higher RPM on deep-well plates, alternative centrifuge solutions (full benchtop centrifuges with deep-well rotor support) are required.
