Buffer setup. 250–300 ml of 1× TAE or 1× TBE (or 0.5× TAE / TBE) is the standard buffer charge. Higher-concentration buffer raises current and may trigger the over-current protection (E5 / E7 errors per brochure troubleshooting).
Gel preparation. Each 10.5 × 6 cm tray requires ~25 ml of agarose (poured at ~60 °C); the 5 × 6 cm tray uses proportionally less. Standard agarose concentrations apply per workflow protocol (typically 1–2% for routine DNA work).
