The Z496-1000-A500 is the 500 mL bottle insert for the Hermle Z496-1000-RBUK rectangular bucket — sold as a 2-pack. The Z496-K rotor + rectangular-bucket configuration accepts microplates directly without adapter, but for bottle-format workflows the rectangular bucket needs an appropriate insert to hold the bottle securely at the correct centrifugation orientation. The Z496-1000-A500 insert holds standard 500 mL polypropylene centrifuge bottles (compatible with Hermle's C1500 bottle SKU) inside the rectangular-bucket envelope.

Compatibility & Configuration

Insert pairing — Z496-1000-RBUK rectangular bucket only. The Z496-1000-A500 is engineered to fit inside the rectangular-bucket envelope. Not compatible with Z496-1000-1L round buckets (which use different geometry and direct bottle fit), or with bucket geometries on other Hermle chassis families.

Bottle pairing — C1500. The 500 mL polypropylene centrifuge bottle (Hermle C1500 SKU) is the engineered bottle fit; other 500 mL bottle formats may not fit the insert geometry. Confirm bottle dimensions against the insert at order if using non-Hermle bottles.

Pack quantity — 2 inserts per SKU. The complete 4-bucket Z496-K rotor configuration takes 4 inserts total = 2 units of this SKU.

Application Profile

500 mL bottle workflows on the Z496-K rotor + rectangular bucket configuration — when the workflow uses 500 mL polypropylene bottles instead of 1,000 mL bottles or microplates, this insert holds the bottle at the correct orientation for swing-out separation.

Ordering & Configuration

Insert installation. The Z496-1000-A500 inserts seat into the Z496-1000-RBUK bucket per Hermle service instructions. Confirm seat integrity before loading the bottle.

Symmetric loading. All 4 buckets must use matching configurations — either all 4 buckets with the Z496-1000-A500 insert + 500 mL bottle, or all 4 with a different insert / direct microplate loading. Mixed configurations across buckets produce asymmetric balance.

Z496-1000-A500 ships as 2 inserts. Bottle (Hermle C1500), Z496-1000-RBUK rectangular bucket, and Z496-1000-AC rotor body are all sold separately.

Confirm at quote: rectangular-bucket inventory (Z496-1000-RBUK), rotor-body pairing (Z496-1000-AC), bottle source (Hermle C1500 — verify dimensions if using third-party bottles), and insert count (2 or 4 per workflow configuration).
