The Z306-100 is the standard 4-position swing-out rotor for the Hermle Z306 and Z307 chassis family — 4 × 145 mL bucket capacity at swing-out geometry, with one of the deepest adapter libraries in the Hermle Z-series rotor catalog. The 145 mL bucket envelope sits between the smaller-volume rotors (50–100 mL) and the larger-volume rotors (200 mL and up); this size class is appropriate for mid-volume bottle workflows that exceed 100 mL but don't warrant a 200 mL or 250 mL chassis. The adapter library extends compatibility down to 1.5 / 2.0 mL micro tubes plus a wide range of intermediate clinical, blood-collection, and conical formats.

Chassis compatibility — Z306 / Z307 family. The Z306-100 is engineered for the Z306 and Z307 chassis. The Z307 universal centrifuge (current 2026 catalog) is the primary host chassis; Z306 references the predecessor / sister chassis with shared rotor catalog.
RFID-tagged. The chassis reads the rotor's RFID at insertion and applies the rotor-rated speed cap automatically.
Deep adapter library — the Z306-100 has one of the most extensive adapter sets in the Hermle catalog, supporting a wide range of tube and bottle formats per bucket:
| Adapter | Tube format per bucket | Approx tube count per bucket |
| A145 | 1 × 145 mL (no adapter — direct fit to bucket) | 1 |
| A100 | 1 × 100 mL bottle | 1 |
| A85 | 1 × 85 mL | 1 |
| A50SS | 1 × 50 mL skirted | 1 |
| A50R | 1 × 50 mL round-bottom | 1 |
| A50 | 1 × 50 mL conical | 1 |
| A30 | 1 × 30 mL | 1 |
| A15 | Multi-position 15 mL conical | up to 8 (per brochure: 4 in some configs, 8 in others) |
| A10 | Multi-position 10 mL Vacutainer | up to 28 |
| A57 | Multi-position 5/7 mL Vacutainer | up to 28 |
| A20 | Multi-position 1.5/2.0 mL micro | up to 36 (per brochure) |
| B50 / B15 | Specialty 50 mL / 15 mL formats | varies |
Cross-rotor adapter compatibility. Per the brochure, some adapters are shared with the Z327-200 family — confirm specific adapter SKU at order to avoid cross-rotor confusion.
BT1500 and Z326-MPCA inserts convert buckets to microtube-rack and microplate / chamber-slide / petri-dish workflows respectively.
4 × 145 mL bottle workflows — direct-fit applications for 145 mL bottles, mid-volume cell-culture pellet recovery, and intermediate-volume bottle separations.
4 × 50 mL conical workflows via A50 adapters — when the workflow needs swing-out boundary clarity for 50 mL conical samples at mid-RCF, the Z306-100 is the throughput pick (4 conical per cycle).
High-throughput 1.5/2.0 mL microtube via A20 adapters — the brochure shows up to 36 microtubes per bucket × 4 buckets = up to 144 microtubes per cycle in swing-out geometry. This is meaningful throughput for clinical-research workflows that benefit from swing-out boundary clarity at microtube scale.
Mixed-format cores. The deep adapter library makes the Z306-100 a "do everything" swing-out rotor — bottle work, conical work, micro work, plus chamber-slide and microplate via the BT1500 / Z326-MPCA inserts.
Density-gradient and step-gradient work with the unbraked deceleration option (chassis-controlled) preserves continuous gradients during slow-down.
Cold-chain bottle workflows when paired with refrigerated chassis variants (where supported in the Z306 / Z307 family).
4-bucket symmetric loading. Pair opposite buckets by weight (positions 1+3, 2+4); pre-balance to within the rotor's per-position tolerance.
Adapter consistency required across all 4 positions when using adapters — mixed-adapter loading produces asymmetric mass distribution.
Selectable accel/decel. Chassis profiles apply.
Z306-100 ships as the rotor body with 4 buckets. Adapters and any specialty inserts are sold separately per workflow.
Confirm at quote: chassis pairing (Z306, Z307, or -E variants), adapter inventory needed for intended tube/bottle formats, training, and lead time. The wide adapter library means workflow specification matters at order — your sales rep can recommend the optimal adapter set for your dominant workflow.
Warranty: 5-Year Hermle warranty (3 years full + 2 years drivetrain) on the rotor body and buckets. Balance validation through the Hermle service network.
Z306-100 vs Z327-200 selection: the Z306-100 (this product, 145 mL buckets, Z306/Z307 chassis) is the mid-volume swing-out for the Z306/Z307 family. The Z327-200 (200 mL buckets, Z327/Z327-K chassis) is the larger-volume sibling for the higher-spec Z327 chassis. Pick based on the chassis your lab has in inventory and the bottle volume the workflow needs.
