The Z206-1215 is the 12-position fixed-angle rotor for 15 mL tubes on the Hermle Z206-A compact universal centrifuge — providing higher per-cycle throughput (12 tubes vs the Z206 family's 6-position swing-out rotors) for routine 15 mL workflows. At 6,000 rpm / 4,427 × g, the rotor handles standard clinical-research and cell-culture 15 mL workflows on the compact-bench Z206-A chassis. Z206-A only — engineered for the Z206-A spindle.

Chassis compatibility — Z206-A only. The Z206-1215 spindle interface is engineered for the Z206-A compact universal centrifuge. Confirm chassis match at order.
12-position throughput. Doubles the per-cycle 15 mL throughput vs the swing-out Z206-0605 (6 × 5 mL) — the right rotor when the Z206-A workflow needs higher 15 mL batch size and the 32° fixed-angle geometry is acceptable for the protocol.
Adapter library — smaller-volume tubes. The C3100-ADP adapter holds either 7 mL or 5 mL tubes (13 mm OD) within the 15 mL position, letting the same rotor process mixed-volume runs.
Fixed-angle vs swing-out trade-off. The 32° fixed angle produces an angled pellet on the tube wall (not the flat sediment of a swing-out rotor). For protocols requiring flat-sediment geometry (clinical blood-component separation with downstream supernatant aspiration), the swing-out 0605 is preferred. For higher-throughput tube spinning where pellet-orientation isn't critical, the 1215 is the right pick.
12-tube clinical-research and cell-culture batches — pelleting cells from suspension culture, supernatant collection, organic-phase separation in 15 mL conical at 12-tube parallel throughput.
Educational lab workflows — undergraduate biology and biochemistry teaching where the 12-position rotor matches a typical lab section's tube count.
Bench-scale protein workflows — TCA precipitation, ammonium sulfate cuts, organic extractions in 15 mL working volume across 12 parallel preps.
Mid-volume institutional clinical-research — when sample throughput exceeds the 6-position swing-out rotor's capacity but doesn't justify a larger chassis, the 1215 doubles the per-cycle batch size on the same Z206-A bench footprint.
Mixed-volume runs via C3100-ADP — when some samples are 15 mL and others are 5–7 mL within the same workflow, the adapter approach handles both formats in the same cycle.
12-position symmetric loading. Pair opposites (positions 1+7, 2+8, etc.) by tube mass. 15 mL conical tubes filled to consistent volume balance cleanly; mixed-volume runs require pre-balance.
Adapter symmetry. When using C3100-ADP adapters, paired positions must use matching adapter + tube combinations to maintain mass balance.
Tube cap confirmation. All tubes must be securely capped before spinning at 6,000 rpm.
Selectable accel/decel. Z206-A chassis profiles apply; the unbraked extended-decel profile (30 sec) preserves loose pellets for cell-culture workflows.
Z206-1215 ships as the rotor body alone. C3100-ADP adapters for smaller tubes are sold separately. Tubes are operator-supplied (commodity 15 mL conical and 5/7 mL formats).
Confirm at quote: chassis pairing (Z206-A confirmed), adapter inventory needed for smaller-volume formats, and lead time.
Warranty: 5-Year Hermle warranty (3 years full + 2 years drivetrain) on the rotor body.
Z206-A 15 mL workflow rotor selection:
- Z206-1215 (this product) — 12 × 15 mL fixed-angle at 4,427 × g for higher-throughput 15 mL batches
- Z206-0605 — 6 × 5 mL swing-out for clinical blood-component separation (flat sediment)
- Z206-0650 — 6 × 50 mL angle rotor for larger-volume tube workflows on the same chassis
Pick the 1215 when 15 mL throughput matters and the 32° fixed-angle pellet is acceptable; pick the 0605 swing-out when flat-sediment geometry is required.
