The Haier DW-86L728J is a 728 L (25.7 cu ft) upright -86 °C ultra-low freezer that delivers full flagship capacity on a standard 115 V (120 V/60 Hz) service. A rare combination that lets a lab install a large-format ULT without provisioning a dedicated 208–230 V receptacle. A high-efficiency hydrocarbon (HC) compressor drives the -40 °C to -86 °C range, an adjustable-LED microprocessor controller manages temperature and alarms, and four inner doors segment the cabinet for controlled access. It holds up to 500 standard 2-inch boxes and is UL/ENERGY STAR certified.

Application Profile
The DW-86L728J is the freezer to specify when a lab needs maximum working capacity but is constrained to a 115 V circuit. Most large ULT freezers require 208–230 V; this model delivers a full 25.7 cu ft, up to 500 2-inch boxes, on a standard North-American service, which simplifies siting in buildings without spare high-voltage receptacles. That makes it a strong central freezer for a department or a high-capacity satellite point. (See ult-freezer-selection.)
Four inner doors keep cold-air loss localized on each retrieval, and ENERGY STAR certification reflects the optimized hydrocarbon refrigeration system's efficiency at this size. The standard alarm suite (high/low temperature, power failure, hot condenser, door ajar, sensor error, low battery, high-ambient) supports unattended overnight operation with audible, remote, and USB outputs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Haier DW-86L728J run on a standard 115 V outlet? Yes. It operates on 120 V/60 Hz (US 115 V nominal) while providing full 25.7 cu ft capacity, so no dedicated 208–230 V receptacle is needed. The 208–230 V sibling is the DW-86L728JA.
What temperature range does it reach? -40 °C to -86 °C, from a high-efficiency hydrocarbon compressor and optimized refrigeration system.
How many samples does it hold? 728 L / 25.7 cu ft, up to 500 standard 2-inch boxes, across three adjustable stainless-steel shelves behind four inner doors.
Is it energy-efficient? Yes. It is UL and ENERGY STAR certified, using a very-low-GWP hydrocarbon refrigerant.
How much can each shelf hold? Each shelf measures 752 × 650 mm and is rated to 90 kg.
Ordering & Configuration
quote-based. The DW-86L728J is a capital ultra-low freezer sold through a quote. At quote we confirm the 115 V circuit and receptacle, floor space for the 1049 × 980 × 1980 mm cabinet, ambient conditions, backup/monitoring accessories (CO₂/LN₂ backup and chart recorder optional), rack layout, and installation. Warranty terms are confirmed with the quote, and lead time is provided at quotation. Request a quote to place the DW-86L728J on your existing 115 V service.
The 115 V flagship: the DW-86L728J is chosen when a lab wants a large 25.7 cu ft ULT but must stay on a standard 115 V circuit. Choose the DW-86L728JA if a 208–230 V receptacle is available, or the frequency-conversion DW-86L730BPT/DW-86L728BPST when touchscreen control, tighter stability, or dual-system redundancy are priorities.
