The AP1016-ASR is the aluminum sample rack for the Accuris AP1016 IsoPure Mini Automated Purification System — the required adapter for loading 6-well sample strips (AP1016-6W) into the IsoPure Mini's processing chamber. Per the IsoPure Mini brochure: *"The Aluminum Sample Rack is inserted in the same way as deep well plates. The difference is that the Aluminum Sample Rack can process 1~8 samples using 6-well sample strips."* The rack holds 1–8 of the 6-well strips in correct positioning for the chassis's magnetic-bead transfer comb, and is the mandatory adapter for the 6-well-strip workflow — the strips cannot load into the chassis without it.

Initial chassis commissioning for 6-well strip workflow — when commissioning a new AP1016 chassis for low-throughput (1–8 sample) extraction batches, the aluminum sample rack is required to load the 6-well strips. Order at chassis commissioning unless the workflow is exclusively 96 deep-well plate format.
  2. Spare-rack inventory — facilities running heavy-duty 6-well-strip workflows benefit from a spare rack on hand for swap-in if the primary rack is being cleaned, contaminated, or removed for inspection.
  3. Multi-chassis facilities — facilities running multiple IsoPure Mini chassis on 6-well-strip workflows need one rack per chassis (the rack is chassis-resident; not portable between chassis during operation).
  4. Replacement — if an existing rack is damaged, warped, or has reached service life from extended thermal cycling.

The aluminum sample rack is the mechanical bridge between the strip-format consumable and the chassis processing chamber. It provides:

  • Correct strip positioning so the magnetic-bead transfer comb engages each strip well at the right pitch and depth
  • Thermal coupling for lysis (up to 120 °C) and elution (ambient +5 °C to 120 °C) protocol steps — aluminum's thermal conductivity supports the protocol's temperature programming

Design Architecture
