The Yamato DP-83C is a 512 L floor-type large-capacity vacuum drying oven — the smaller of the DP83C/104C pair (512 L vs 1000 L), a large-scale unit designed for treatment of large-sized parts. It dries by decompressed-chamber direct heating: reducing chamber pressure to as low as 0.1 kPa (1 Torr) lowers the boiling point of moisture and solvents so they evaporate gently at low temperature. A 6.5 kW heater, a 3-segment PID controller with 30-step program operation, and an internal vacuum-pump installation room make it a self-contained production-scale oven. on an AC220V supply, it suits large-part production drying, high-volume bulk solvent removal, and scale-up degassing.

Its larger sister is DP-104C (1000 L, 480V 3-phase); step down to the DP43C/63C series (91 L / 216 L).

Application Profile

Large-part production drying. The 512 L chamber and 800 mm-cube interior are designed for treatment of large-sized parts; decompressed direct heating dries them gently at 40–200 °C under reduced pressure.

High-volume bulk solvent removal. Reduced pressure lowers solvent boiling points so residual solvents are stripped from large batches, assemblies, and cast parts at low temperature. The 30-step program operation runs a defined multi-step drying schedule.

Scale-up degassing and outgassing. Deep vacuum (to 1 Torr) drives dissolved gases and volatiles out of resins, adhesives, and cast materials before curing or measurement, at production scale.

Moisture-sensitive preparation of large assemblies. Bound and surface moisture is removed from hygroscopic materials and large parts before further processing, without oxidative exposure.

Self-contained installation. The internal vacuum-pump installation room and quick-connect / disconnect vacuum piping keep the pump housed with the oven and simplify maintenance.

Design Architecture

The DP-83C dries by decompressed-chamber direct heating: a 6.5 kW heater warms the stainless chamber while a vacuum pump — which can be installed inside the oven's dedicated room — evacuates it through the NW40 exhaust flange to as low as 0.1 kPa (1 Torr), read on a pointer gauge (-100 ~ 0 kPa). An improved exhaust system significantly shortens vacuum-reaching time, and quick connect / disconnect vacuum pipes ease pump maintenance.

Control. A 3-segment PID controller holds setpoint to ±1.0 °C at 200 °C across the 40–200 °C range, with a green 4-digit LED measured-temperature display and red 4-digit LED setting display. Operation modes include fixed-temperature, auto-start, auto-stop, and program operation (3 segments, 30 steps: 30×1 / 15×2 / 10×3), plus deviation correction, key-lock, and power-outage compensation. A K-thermocouple serves both the controller and the overheat protector, with SSR heater drive.

Chamber and viewing. The 800 × 800 × 800 mm stainless interior ships with 2 stainless-steel punching plates (shelves). A toughened-glass observation window with resin protection panel allows monitoring under vacuum.

Safety. A self-diagnostic circuit (abnormal-temperature sensing, heater disconnection, auto overheat prevention, SSR short-circuit), an overheat protector, an ELB to prevent overcurrent, and key-lock. For safety, a resin protection panel is installed at the observation window. Never use in a flammable or explosive gas atmosphere, and never process explosive or flammable material. High-temperature components — observe burn-hazard cautions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How large is the DP-83C chamber? 512 L (an 800 mm cube interior) — the smaller of the DP83C/104C large-capacity pair (512 L vs 1000 L).

How does the DP-83C dry samples? By decompressed-chamber direct heating: a 6.5 kW heater warms the chamber while it is evacuated to as low as 0.1 kPa (1 Torr), lowering the boiling point of moisture and solvents so they evaporate gently at low temperature.

What is its temperature range and accuracy? 40 to 200 °C, controlled to ±1.0 °C at 200 °C by a 3-segment PID controller with 30-step program operation.

Where does the vacuum pump go? The DP-83C has an internal vacuum-pump installation room, keeping the pump housed with the oven; Yamato recommends the NEODRY60E2 dry-vacuum-pump kit (200–240V).

What electrical supply does it require? AC220V, 31.5A, 50/60 Hz, with no plug (round terminal) — plan a hardwired connection.

Ordering & Configuration

Included: 2 stainless-steel punching plates (shelves).

Pair with a vacuum pump. Yamato recommends the NEODRY60E2 dry-vacuum-pump kit (200–240V) for the DP-83C. Optional accessories include additional shelf plates, N2 introduction device, recorder, alarm indicator lamp (stand-by / running / malfunction), and temperature/alarm output terminals. Specify at order.

Confirm electrical supply. The DP-83C is AC220V, 31.5A, with no plug (round terminal) — plan a hardwired connection. Confirm supply and circuit at order.

Plan floor space and installation. At 1020 × 1020 × 1850 mm external and ~450 kg, this is a large floor-standing unit — confirm room access, floor loading, and service clearance at order.

Confirm application fit. Verify sample chemistry, target temperature/vacuum, part/batch size versus the 512 L chamber, and whether the 1000 L DP-104C or the smaller DP43C/63C series is the better match.

Request a quote for pricing, vacuum-pump pairing, optional accessories, electrical/installation planning, lead time, and warranty. Warranty per Yamato standard capital-equipment terms — confirm at quote.
