The Yamato 212561 is the 8-port Manifold A for the Yamato DC401 benchtop freeze dryer. It mounts to the DC401's cold trap and provides eight ports for attaching flasks, ampules or serum bottles, turning the trap into a parallel manifold dryer for pre-frozen samples.

A freeze dryer's cold trap condenses water vapor, but the manifold is what determines how you dry. The 8-port Manifold A lets a lab dry up to eight pre-frozen samples in parallel off a single DC401 trap — flasks for bulk lyophilization, or ampules and serum bottles via the matching adapters for sealed-format drying. Load ports a few moments apart so the trap vacuum recovers, and cap unused ports. Because it is a manifold rather than a chamber, it suits individual-vessel drying (each sample on its own port). Pre-freeze samples below their eutectic point before drawing vacuum, and never load flammable material — the DC401 is not explosion-proof.
