Sold at $196, the replacement element is the end-of-life service component for BactiZapper Classic chassis where the original element has reached the end of its operational life (typical multi-year service life under normal use; element resistance gradually drifts as the ceramic ages). The replacement element is voltage-specific because element resistance must match line voltage to deliver the rated 815 °C operating temperature.

Why Voltage-Specific: Resistance Matching

Heating-element resistance must be matched to line voltage to deliver the rated operating temperature. A 115 V element installed in a 230 V chassis would draw 4× the rated current (V²/R for fixed resistance under doubled voltage), causing catastrophic element failure within seconds. A 230 V element installed in a 115 V chassis would draw ¼ the rated current, producing insufficient heat to reach 815 °C operating temperature.

Heating Element Selection: Voltage and Chassis Family

Critical: the Classic-family element (B1000-RA) and the Tilt-family element (B1001-RA) DO NOT interchange. The Tilt chassis uses a different element-assembly form factor to accommodate the tilt mechanism.
