The Haier DW-86L338J is a 338 L (11.9 cu ft) upright -86 °C ultra-low freezer on a standard 115 V (120 V/60 Hz) service, a compact, plug-into-a-standard-lab-circuit ULT for departments that need genuine -80 °C storage without a large cabinet or a dedicated high-voltage receptacle. A high-efficiency hydrocarbon (HC) compressor and optimized refrigeration system deliver the -40 °C to -86 °C range, and an adjustable-LED microprocessor controller manages temperature and alarms. It holds up to 216 standard 2-inch boxes behind two inner doors and across three adjustable stainless-steel shelves.

Application Profile
The DW-86L338J answers a common lab problem: a group needs real -80 °C storage but has neither a 208–230 V receptacle nor room for a full-height ULT. Running on an ordinary 115 V circuit, it drops into most benches' and corridors' existing electrical service. The 11.9 cu ft cabinet, up to 216 2-inch boxes, is sized for a single lab, a satellite storage point, or a backup to a larger central freezer. (See ult-freezer-selection.)
Its two inner doors reduce cold-air loss on each retrieval, and the standard alarm suite (high/low temperature, power failure, hot condenser, door ajar, sensor error, low battery, high-ambient) provides monitoring appropriate to unattended overnight operation. The interior is available in stainless steel as an option per the brochure footnote.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Haier DW-86L338J run on a standard wall outlet? It runs on 120 V/60 Hz (US 115 V nominal), so it fits a standard North-American lab circuit, no dedicated 208–230 V receptacle required. The 208–230 V sibling is the DW-86L338JA.
What temperature range does it reach? -40 °C down to -86 °C, from a high-efficiency hydrocarbon compressor and optimized refrigeration system.
How much does it hold? 338 L / 11.9 cu ft, up to 216 standard 2-inch boxes, across three adjustable stainless-steel shelves behind two inner doors.
How much can a shelf carry? Each shelf measures 451 × 597 mm and is rated to 44 kg.
Is it certified? Yes, UL certified, with a 100% hydrocarbon refrigerant of very low global-warming potential.
Ordering & Configuration
quote-based. The DW-86L338J is a capital ultra-low freezer sold through a quote. At quote we confirm the 115 V circuit and receptacle, floor space for the 830 × 900 × 1871 mm cabinet, ambient conditions, optional stainless interior, backup/monitoring accessories (CO₂/LN₂ backup and chart recorder optional), and installation. Warranty terms are confirmed with the quote, and lead time is provided at quotation. Request a quote to place the DW-86L338J on your existing 115 V service.
115 V vs 208–230 V: the DW-86L338J is the 11.9 cu ft ULT for labs that must stay on a standard 115 V circuit. Choose the DW-86L338JA when a 208–230 V receptacle is available and you want the higher-voltage variant; step up to the DW-86L490JA (17.3 cu ft) or DW-86L728J (25.7 cu ft, 115 V) for more capacity.
