The V0020-F1 is the replacement hydrophobic filter for the Accuris Aspire Laboratory Aspirator (V0020) — the in-line filter that protects the aspirator pump from accidental liquid intake. Per the V0020 user manual, the filter is workflow-required — without it, accidental liquid carryover (from overfull collection bottles or workflow incidents) could damage the pump assembly and require costly chassis service.
Sold as 1 filter per pack (V0020-F1) for replacement / spare consumable inventory.

Why a Hydrophobic Filter — Pump Protection
The Aspire's vacuum pump is damaged by direct liquid contact. The hydrophobic filter creates a liquid barrier between the collection bottle and the pump: aspirated liquid flows from the sample through the tubing into the collection bottle, while vacuum air flow continues from the bottle through the hydrophobic filter to the pump — and the filter blocks liquid passage even if the bottle overflows or splash-back occurs. If the filter is missing or damaged, liquid can reach the pump (causing pump damage, chassis service, and costly downtime), and bacterial or cell-suspension contamination of the pump internals can create cross-workflow contamination risk.
Filter replacement is workflow-mandatory for safe Aspire operation. The chassis ships with one filter installed; the V0020-F1 SKU is the replacement.
Filter Replacement Cycle
Service life depends on workflow throughput and aspiration intensity:
| Workflow scenario | Typical filter service life | Replacement frequency |
| Light use (occasional aspiration, minimal splash-back) | 12+ months | Annual replacement |
| Routine tissue culture (daily aspiration, standard splash management) | 6 months | Bi-annual replacement |
| Heavy production (multiple-times-daily aspiration, occasional overflow events) | 1–3 months | Quarterly replacement |
| After overflow incident (if liquid reached the filter) | Replace immediately | As-needed |
Replacement indicators:
- Visible discoloration or contamination of the filter
- Reduced vacuum pump performance (filter clogging)
- After any overflow incident regardless of visible filter condition
- Per scheduled preventive-maintenance cycle
Application Profile
Workflow-mandatory replacement consumable for all Aspire chassis — every Aspire installation needs filter inventory for service-cycle replacement.
Production tissue-culture facility consumable — labs running daily aspiration consume filter service life faster than light-use labs.
Multi-chassis facility inventory — facilities running multiple Aspire chassis maintain centralized spare-filter stock.
Post-incident replacement — replacement after overflow events regardless of filter visible condition.
Preventive-maintenance program inventory — facilities running scheduled PM cycles include filter replacement in the PM workflow.
Ordering & Configuration
Pair with chassis inventory. The V0020-F1 is chassis-specific to the Aspire — confirm Aspire chassis (V0020) is in inventory at order.
Stock multiple filters. Given the small per-filter cost, stocking 2–4 filters per chassis supports preventive-maintenance and post-incident replacement without procurement delay.
Confirm at quote: chassis pairing (V0020 in inventory), filter quantity needed (per chassis × per workflow throughput), and lead time.
Warranty: Per Accuris standard consumable terms — confirm at quote.
Accuris Aspire chassis and replacement-consumable family:
- V0020 — Aspire chassis (115 V / 230 V)
- V0020-BOT — Replacement 2 L collection bottle
- V0020-TB — Spare silicone tubing
- V0020-F1 (this product) — Replacement hydrophobic filter
- V0020-QD — Optional Quick Disconnect kit
