The cuvette port is a chassis-included feature. Operators can switch between pedestal and cuvette workflows per measurement need without instrument reconfiguration. The NS1000-C provides spare / replacement cuvettes for the cuvette-port workflow.
OD600 bacterial-density measurement: the workhorse cuvette-port application. Per NS1000 brochure: *"For OD600 readings, each model includes a cuvette port."* Bacterial-culture growth-curve measurements, sub-culture density verification, and bioreactor cell-density tracking workflows all use the OD600 cuvette workflow.
Standard absorbance assays at cuvette volumes. Assays where the sample volume is sufficient for cuvette-format measurement (vs sub-microliter pedestal) benefit from the cuvette-port workflow's higher-volume sample integration (averaged path-length statistics).
Replacement consumable for heavy-use SmartDrop workflows. Labs running daily OD600 or cuvette-format absorbance measurements consume cuvette service life faster than occasional-use labs.
Spare-rotation for multi-condition workflows. Labs running OD600 across multiple culture conditions benefit from dedicated cuvettes per condition.
